The early 1990s: In public space – in reality as well as on television – the role of religious signs and symbols is changing.   The role of the church is changing as well: it’s using its moral authority to weigh in as a player on the political scene.  And like everyone else in that game, it’s fighting not just for spiritual power, but for real power.  Mirosław Koch’s work is probably the first to deal with this subject, and it does so in a multidimensional, cricical and poetic manner.
