Performance and installation EU—tracer (2011) utilize various techniques for monitoring and scanning the data flow in the Internet and by focussing on mutual relations between different sets of data, the work transforms Internet traffic into visual and sound structures. Data from assorted institutions of the European Union are changed — depending on the particular geographic location, the quality of the connection and the original improvisation style of the local musician invited to the performance — and transferred from the institutionalized field into realm of free play with information that becomes the building blocks for a work of art. The piece further develops strategies used by the artist in the Web/Net Eater installation series and the Ping Melody peformance by using — just as the latter — the ping command and a live sound of acoustic instrument to analize the data transfer.
